Founded in 2014, Indigenous Solutions is the leader in providing Tribal Education consultation services for Indigenous Communities throughout the United States. Indigenous Solutions is owned and operated by Mario Molina, an enrolled member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe with maternal ties to the Akimel O'odham.
Mario is a graduate of Arizona State University where he completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in LIfe Span Developmental Psychology. His dissertation: Himdag and Belonging at Gila River: Interpreting the experiences of Akimel O'odham College Graduate Returning to the Tribal Community, focused on the acceptance and belonging of Tribal members that seek a higher education and attempt to return to their Tribal communities.
Growing up in a rural town, near the Gila river Indian Community, Mario has developed a style that is unique to Indian Country that was developed while experiencing life within and outside his Tribal community.
Dr. Molina has demonstrated an incredibly deep commitment to serving Native youth and Indigenous communities in furthering their educational pursuits and opportunities. His work has included drafting Tribal education codes, Tribal culture and language standards and curriculum, crafting Tribal legislation, K-12 programming, Higher Education programming and many other facets of Indian Education.
Mario Molina is a former educator and school leader within public, tribal, charter and private schools in southern Arizona. He has provided consultation services to several tribes that include; Eastern Band of Cherokee, Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, Turtle Mountain of Chippewa, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Leech Band of Ojibwe, Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, Tohono O'odham Nation, and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
His work is new to Indian Country and utilizes tenets of Human Development Theorists combined with Red Pedagogy to develop new methods and strategies for his clients.
Whether you are an established Tribal entity or a new Tribal entity or a school that serves Indigenous students; the world of Indian Education is growing at a rapid pace. New ideas and new opportunities present themselves with each passing day and Indigenous communities should take advantage of all possibilities.
Advocating for positive change is at the footsteps of all Indigenous communities and their education partners, we often just need guidance and support to understanding the complex world of Tribal Education. As opportunities present themselves to Indigenous communities, it is imperative that that Tribal Nations utilize a consultant that can help them maneuver the often complex systems of Tribal Education and the relationship to the Indigenous community and how education impacts the future of their Tribe.
Indigenous Solutions prides itself on providing consultation services surrounding topics that we face as Tribal Nations daily; these topics are often not taught in college or university settings or learned and discussed at education conferences.
